California’s Lemon Law protects purchasers of used and new vehicles if they are still under the manufacturer’s warranty.

If a used vehicle was sold “as is,” the warranty may no longer apply, negating its owner’s eligibility to file a Lemon Law claim in California. If you are unsure which applies in your case, review your contract and other information about the vehicle to determine if the warranty still applies.
